Judith Plümer studied Mathematics and Computer Science in Osnabrück. In 1999 she finished her Ph.D. in Mathematics. She started working on problems of Scientific Information and Communication as a student in the early 1990s and worked in projects on electronic libraries, preprint services for mathematics, content analysis, retrieval and metadata. She teaches mathematics at the university of Osnabrück and is currently running the DFG funded Open-Access-Network Projekt (in cooperation with HU Berlin and SUB Göttingen) and chairing the nonprofit association “Urheberrecht für Bildung und Wissenschaft e.V.”.
