Katalin Gallyas is policy advisor at the city council of Amsterdam (Economic Affairs), specialized on open innovation. She has been involved in Open Data projects of the city, such as Apps for Amsterdam and in EU projects management on open innovation field. Katalin advocates the positive chances Open Innovation includes for cities, particularly crowdsourcing.
Recently she is responsible to launch a city broad Open Innovation Policy Framework with the city governance and external stakeholders, such as buttom up developers community. To showcase the value of Open Innovation for the city of Amsterdam, Katalin is managing 3 EU ICT related project for the city of Amsterdam. These projects are Open Cities, Commons4 EU and City SDK. She is fully inspired by the new business models Open Innovation evokes in the cities and believes in the need of changing traditional governmental innovation methodologies.
