Stefan Plöchinger, born 1976, is Editor-in-Chief of Süddeutsche.de, the online news site of Germany’s biggest broadsheet Süddeutsche Zeitung, and Managing Editor (Online) of the newspaper since 2011. After graduating from high school in 1995, he started as a local reporter for the SZ, studied journalism at the university of Munich and at Deutsche Journalistenschule, became a political editor at Abendzeitung, went to Hamburg to join the Managing Editor’s team of Financial Times Deutschland and switched to Spiegel Online in 2006 as Copy Chief and Managing Editor.
