Stephanie has worked to strengthen information activism and reduce limits to freedom and expression online since 1998. She is the co-founder of Tactical Tech, an international NGO that over the last nine years has built the skills of thousands of activists worldwide. It brings together creativity and alternative approaches to learning with strong advocacy and technology skills. This has included an ‘edumentary’ film showing the work of fifty information activists worldwide; 10 Tactics for turning information into action, and a digital security and privacy initiative that experiments with ‘flash trainings’, practical toolkits and a series of animated films about a little robot called Ono. Stephanie is currently working on an upcoming book on visual political representation and has recently co-founded a creative agency for advocacy; Tactical Studios.
