It’s been about three years since a few people, who had known each other only via Twitter, used the service to arrange a meet-up over a few beers. @Withoutfield tweeted out an invitation announcing that a few people were meeting up for a “Tassebier”, a cup of beer.

At re:publica 2011, #Tassebier was one of the most successful, unofficial sideshow-parties of the conference. This year, we are going one better.
This year’s #Tassebier will be re:publica 2012’s official farewell party.

#Tassebier will also be featuring the visuals by @VJRabauke, a Twitter wall as well as a live-stream for all of those who can’t attend the party.
