Does this factory floor look empty and boring? Then help us change it! For the first time at re:publica, we have made an Open Space area available for you to use and do in as you please – for workshops which don’t need a stage. Spontaneous organisation is the name of the game. Want to arrange a small, hands-on workshop, brainstorming session or discussion group? The Open Space is yours.
The whole lounge area on the 2nd floor of the STATION is yours to use. Thanks to our partner NEULAND, the area will be full to the brim with pin walls, flip charts, pens, and every other stationary needed for workshops. We’ll also provide tables, chairs, several network connections (best to bring your own cables, just to be sure) and most importantly – plenty of space.
A couple of sessions have already been planned:
André Rebentisch, who has been involved in internet topics with the European Union for several years, has already registered the “ROOTCAMP EU” networking session. On 2 May, along with Euro blogger Ronny Patz and Telecomix agent Stefan Marsiske, you can discuss with him how the European Union, which has a final say on so many issues, can be transformed into a more democratic entity and create a “Citizen’s Europe”.
Journelle and Patrizia Cammarata will be hosting a speed-networking-session, probably on Thursday, aimed at supporting and strengthening the network amongst female re:publica participants. Annina Luzie Schmid can help you tidy up your digital life and get to know one of our partner start-ups, in a hands-on session, with Dr Jörg Dömemann.
The sessions which have already been planned for the Open Space can be found here. From 2 May onwards, you can register your session ideas directly on location.
Our event partner NEULAND, recommended to us by Anna Lena Schiller, is a market-leading expert in learning tools and conference moderation. In the NEULAND online shop you’ll find everything you need to equip seminars, workshops, training days –including graphics recording. Their network is available to answer any other questions and create a community. This family-owned business is looking forward to meeting many new users at this year’s re:publica, as it is always on the look-out for the next- new-thing in order to turn innovative ideas into trends and help improve them for the user.
