Lothar Lochmaier works as freelance economics and industry journalist in Berlin. He is the author of the book “Die Banken sind wir – Chancen und Zukunftsperspektiven von Social Banking” (“We are the banks – Opportunities and future prospects of social banking”) and runs the weblog “Social Banking 2.0 – der Kunde übernimmt die Regie” (“Social Banking 2.0 – the customer takes the reigns”). Recently, he has also published the eBook “Schattenbanken – Computerhacker nehmen die fiktive Frankfurter Handelsbank ins Visier” (“Shadow banks – hackers take on the fictive Frankfurter Handelsbank”). In this novel, the crowdfunding approach plays a key role in the creation of community centred banking models. In “Bank 2.0: The Killerapp”, the final work of his bank trilogy, Lothar Lochmaier lists ten creative “Killerapps”, which will redefine the self-concept of banks in the coming years.
