What is data journalism? What have other people done in this field? How can I get started? Several leading data journalists from the Guardian, the New York Times,
Financial Times, Chicago Tribune, Deutsche Welle, Medill School of Journalism, Cronkite School of Journalism and others worked together to answer these questions in the Data Journalism Handbook.
The handbook is a free open-source reference book for anyone interested in the emerging field of data journalism. It started life at the Mozilla Festival in London last year and will be published in April this year.
In this session you will get the opportunity to meet and greet leading data journalists and open data gurus who contributed to the handbook, and learn from them what you need to know to be a data journalist.
