Q: I would like to host a session at the 2012 re:publica, what do I need to do?
A: Take part in our call for papers! Please use the online template to submit your session idea. The more precise the information you submit, the easier for us to select your session.
Q: What information do have to you supply?
A: We need information concerning your session including the topic, a brief description of the content, format (lecture, discussion, workshop or action) as well as some information about you (name and previous experience).
Q: What are the selection criteria?
A: Selection criteria include: the quality and completeness of your proposal, how well your session fits in to the programme and its relevance to this year´s topics (see call text). We are looking for creative, interesting, or innovative contributions.
Q: When is the deadline for applications?
A: The call for papers is open from Mid-December 2011 until January 31st, 2012.
Q: How do I know if my session has been chosen?
A: We will let you know by the end of February at the latest.
Q: By when does the content of my session need to be ready?
A: On the day your session will take place. We do not need your finished presentation only a description we can publish online along with a short speaker biography and picture.
Q: Do I get free entrance if I am hosting a session?
A: Of course!
Q: Will I get paid?
A: No, we are sorry.
Q: Will you cover my travel and accommodation?
A: No, we are sorry. Due to the fact that we try to keep our entrance fees a low as possible and affordable for everyone, we have a really tight budget. We hope you understand that we therefore cannot pay travel costs.
Q: Can I partake as the representative of a company?
A: Of course, you can. We do not, however, accept product presentations or company marketing presentations. If your company is interested in cooperating or partnering with re:publica, please contact us.
Q: How long is a session?
A. Most sessions will be an hour long.
